FIDE Qualification Commission: summary of the meeting in Budapest
The FIDE Qualification Commission had their public meeting on the 20th September, 2024 during the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad, 10-23 September, 2024 in Budapest, Hungary.
The QC Chairperson Sabrina de San Vicente presented the informative report of the activity of the Commission.
QC Councillor WIM Paloma Gutierrez shared the experience of the Spanish Chess Federation converting their national rating system into FIDE rating.
Then, the QC Councillor Gunther van den Bergh presented his experience helping small federations to have a rating system.
QC Secretary FM Shaun Press took the floor to inform about new regulations and investigations.
Finally, QC Member Edgardo Campora presented the new IT4 form and proposals that the Commission received.
During the meeting, the FIDE Qualification Commission Chairperson Sabrina de San Vicente, and the FIDE Qualification Commission Secretary Shaun Press received the prestigious FIDE 100 Award by the FIDE President, Arkady Dvorkovich, recognizing their outstanding contributions.
